PUBLIC SAFETY CADETS JUNIOR POLICE ACADEMY
Click here to view and download our Public Safety Cadets brochure. To apply for membership in our Public Safety Cadets program, download this application and return it to the station (Attn: Corporal Jonathan Russell). This program allows teens between the ages of 14-20 who are interested in pursuing a career in public safety to complete a multi-month program to learn about law enforcement.
TAKE ME HOME PROGRAM
This program allows families to register their children or adults who have Autism or other developmental or diminished intellectual disabilities with the department. During situations where a loved one may wander off, the department will be in a better position to respond to locate the individual. This program also speeds up the reunification process with families.
To register, contact Corporal Laura Gonzalez at lgonzalez@wspd.us or swing by the department to fill out a form. Please bring a recent digital photograph of your loved one.
INVESTIGATOR'S CLUB ACADEMY 4
The department participates at several different elementary campuses across town to spend time with the Investigator's Club, a mentoring program for fourth graders, that teaches life skills with connections to public safety. Contact your school counselor to see if your elementary school participates.
SPECIAL OLYMPICS OF TEXAS
The department is a proud sponsor of Special Olympics Texas. From athletic events, fundraisers, and community meetings, officers and employees participate with Special Olympics.
