The White Settlement Police Department maintains a Training Advisory Board to serve our Training Center by providing guidance in the establishment of curriculum, training needs, frequency and location of courses, standards for admission to training programs, class size, attendance requirements, and retention. This includes making recommendations on policies and procedures, as well as confirmation of compliance with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement rules and regulations.
Serving as a member of the advisory board is more than an honor. Serving as a board member carries with it a duty and responsibility that will impact the professional development of those who serve in a law enforcement capacity, and, equally important, the community in which officers serve.
Board members typically meet quarterly and are appointed by the Chief of Police for a minimum term of three years under the Texas Occupations Code. There are certain requirements outlining eligibility of public board members under section TOC 1701.052.
