On March 21, 2025, at around 10:00 a.m., the White Settlement Police Department was assisted by the Dallas Police Department in the execution of a search warrant in the 1500 block of Garza Avenue in Dallas for stolen construction equipment. The search warrant was a result of a major break in a commercial burglary case involving thousands of dollars of stolen equipment commonly used at construction sites. One arrest was made at the scene for arrest warrants and a drug charge unrelated to the original case. Two firearms were seized along with illicit drugs.
Investigators were able to recover multiple stolen items and other construction equipment that was reported missing from construction sites believed to be across North Texas. A stolen motorcycle from Fort Worth was also recovered. The original call involving the White Settlement Police Department occurred on February 21, 2025, where the department responded to a major theft at a commercial construction site in the 600 block of N. Jim Wright Freeway (Loop 820 West). The total loss in that case was estimated to be over $150,000 dollars of equipment stolen.
During the investigation, the victim of the theft noticed several items of his stolen property for sale on Facebook marketplace. Detectives were able to fully identify the social media profiles associated with stolen equipment for sale and obtain a search warrant. The department has not ruled out additional arrests based upon the investigative leads received today during the search warrant execution.
“This is outstanding work completed by our Criminal Investigations Unit,” said Chief of Police Christopher Cook. “Our goal is always to work hard to recover stolen property and identify those criminals responsible. By being proactive and working alongside multiple victims, we were able to help them recover almost all of their construction equipment that was stolen. We look forward to bringing more accountability to other suspects involved in this elaborate commercial burglary operation. It is a rare occurrence on recovering large amounts of stolen property. I am very proud of the team today.”
Special thanks to the Dallas Police Department South Central Crime Response Team and South Central Drone Unit. Also, special thanks to the Fort Worth Police Department West Division Criminal Investigations Team for working with our detectives.
